Another short, cryptic but interesting quote. By the way, Yogi (a nickname in fact) Berra was a well-known baseball player who played for the New York Yankees.
If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up some place else.

When learning a new thing, I always felt that there is no need to be afraid of making mistakes, something which is evident during the recent Tango workshop classes. However, at the same time, in my opinion it is equally necessary to analyse and discover the causes of such mistakes!?

The bathroom water heater at my new place died yesterday. Burnt out literally. Fortunately it will be replaced in the next couple of days. In the meantime, it’s back to basics as far as taking baths are concerned: one bucket of hot water, to be mixed with the cold water directly from the tap.
On the way home tonight, had a close shave with a passing car. Well, maybe not THAT close…
On the one hand (perhaps in a rather perverted way?), I was kind of hoping to have the opportunity to recount one of those intriguing near-death experiences. However, and very fortunately, things did not pan out that way.

Had another amusing incident over the weekend which accentuated once again the “smallness” of Singapore.
For the past few days, I have been looking for a flat to move into rather urgently. As for why I needed to move after having <a href="”>moved recently, that is another long story…
Just had this flash of genius on the way to work. The thought came as I saw some students walking to the bus (the internal bus on the campus of NUS) stop. I was thinking to myself: most of the students, come exam time, will probably feel that they have the most insurmountable problems in the world, life is hell, etc.
But wait till they leave school, and enter the REAL world… 🙂
How true!
“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”

How often we forget the trials along our own journeys when we criticise others for their lackings…
“Some of the shells that wash up on the beach were once very beautiful. We don’t know what kind of journey they had to take to get them in their fragile condition. The same is true for people. Be kind.”

Not too long ago, I decided to have a go at upgrading my website. My original idea was simply to remove some elements on my page which depended on Javascript, to improve on the CSS design and then to possibly replace the trusty :mt: with a PHP-based system. Unfortunately, I did not get further beyond installing the engines (b2evolution and :wp:), porting of all the entries in my current blog using the tools supplied and played a little with the administration panel.
