Free-ness

No, there is no spelling error in the title of this entry. And yes, there is no such word, but the choice was deliberate.

Free is such a pervasive and yet often mis-used word. For example, in accounting there is the term free cash. This certainly does not mean free cash for the taking, as in free beer! Instead this term means a sum which has not been committed, available for various purposes, an abundance of, etc.

Conundrum

Is it possible that as a person achieves more and more, that same person can feel less and less adequate at the same time?

Sorry, don’t have the answer to this one. But sure is a good chance for using this long word!

Friendship

Today a short quote from a little book which was a gift before I headed for Singapore:

“What does it matter
If man reaches his goal –

“The real measure of wealth is how much you’d be worth if you lost all of your money.”

Just saw this great idea for a collaborative effort, reported on Six Apart, creator of :mt:. Here is an effort to document some of the first experiences of various bloggers in our digital world. Each article actually resides on the original author’s blog, with links set up by the device called Trackback – another creation of the blogging world.

Study & age

I wonder if there is any correlation between ability to study (for exam) and age?

You would think that when you get older, and after having already survived whatever the existing education system can throw at you, you will get better at preparing for examination, wouldn’t you!? I mean, once you have some working experience and therefore have lived in the real world, surely you are better at time management, resource planning, and all that stuff that people have always said is critical for exam success, compared to a fresh and naive student!?
