Facelift?

Have not been tinkering with the interface too much in recent months. Seems like time to change again. 🙂

Next items on my to-do list:

  • Change of colour scheme according to the category: may not be too difficult since this has been discussed on the :mt: list before.
  • Some background pictures?
  • Short video clips of the Tango workshops, demonstrating the different styles.
  • Finally getting around to put the photo albums online? Done!

Destruction and morality

Currently up to the 4th book “Soul Harvest” of the Left Behind series. The Great Earthquake as foretold in the Book of Revelations has struck and huge amounts of people have been killed as a result.

At this point, it really makes you (well, me at least…) wonder what is the point of all this? I mean, why would a benevolent Christian God destroy everything that He has created in the first place (as He has done before in the story of Noah’s Ark, according to the Old Testament)?

Happy New Year 2003!

Happy 2003 to all of you out there!

Have not been updating this website recently. Laziness you might say? Actually, no. Tango workshops, attending friends’ weddings, and many more execuses… 🙂

After this brief period of neglect, I realise to maintain an up-to-date website, you would probably these minimum ingredients: fresh ideas, time and motivation! Failing that, I think having a deadline can do it too!

Tables

Finally succumbed to using HTML tables (despite all the negative connotations associated with them, from perspective of a design purist) because there are not enough entries on the front page (last two weeks’ worth of stuff). Still not convinced about using CSS with absolute coordinates.

Shootings

A few minutes ago, on the evening news, heard that there has been another shooting in a school in America. This comes hot on the heels of similar shootings (2 in the past week?), also in America, in the past week. I should mention that there has also been a shooting in my home town Melbourne, Australia, which has long been regarded as a ‘safe’ place. It really makes one wonder what is the world coming to? Is it so stressful to be a student? What do these cowards really know about hardships in life, and what right do they have to take away another person’s right to live? Of course, compared to the violence on the world scene, such as in Bali, Iraq, West Bank, Africa, etc., these shootings don’t seem such a big-deal after all…

Restless

Looking at the front page yyquest, barring a major facelift, starting to run out of ideas of what else to include? Writers’ block settling in?? I suppose can always include more content, but given this is more of a diary-style site, can’t make up the future, right?? Questions, and more questions…

Convergence

Since I chanced upon the Etemenanki site shortly after the 9/11 ’01 incident that took place in New York, have been following the articles with great interest. The author of this website attempts to derive links from various events – some mainstream, some really obscure, at least outside of US – around the world, and thereby get indications of what a collective future is waiting for us.

Upgrade complete

Finished upgrading last night, and now happily running :mt: Version 2.5! Apart from needing to upload the cgi files a second time – probably because my FTP program did not understand the cgi extension – all went very smoothly.
